About Us

Flood International Consulting Agency (FICA), LLC is owned by Jarrett S. Flood, M.D. and is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. FICA is a full service agency primarily emphasizing consultation services for international health care organizations. We provide services in both domestic and international arenas. In an effort to keep client expense and overhead to a minimum, FICA operates at the lowest level of expense and debt financing.

The management team of FICA is composed of a diverse group of individuals with over 45 years’ combined experience in consultation work and business expertise. Our consultants are experienced and dedicated professionals with many years of international health care understanding. In addition, FICA’s advisory board consists of individuals that have active roles in the following sectors: political/government, business, healthcare administration, consumer advocacy, financial asset and debt management, and community affairs

From the President:

Greetings! It is with great pleasure that I introduce Flood International Consulting Agency (FICA), one of the most unique consulting firms in the world. Although our emphasis is on the health care industry, we also specialize in other sectors such as government, non-profit and small business.

FICA is establishing its role as a forerunner in the pursuit to ensure quality medical training at international medical schools around the world. It is our goal to fill the gaps in a broken system by bringing new and innovative leaders to health care. We will assist current oversight organizations and regulatory bodies to change the way international medical schools operate. Our specific services include, but are not limited to, helping medical schools obtain quality clinical clerkship sites and recruit students utilizing global marketing strategies, and aiding healthcare institutions in their development and organization. We are also in the process of obtaining alternative student loan resources.

Presently, our team is establishing clinical clerkship sites across the United States and working to boost international medical schools’ training standards. As we communicate with hospital CEO's, CMO's, and GME directors, it is our goal to help educate these leaders in an effort to expand their knowledge of the international medical school system. An understanding of the system is important because, for example, from 23% to 25% of all current U.S. medical doctors are international medical graduates (IMGs). It is estimated that this number will continually increase. For this reason alone, it is our number one goal to see that international medical students who intend to practice medicine in the United States receive quality clinical training.

As founder and president of FICA, I have purposed to be aggressive and passionate about executing plans and strategies that will enable IMGs to fulfill their dreams of becoming physicians in the United States. Thus, our team is committed to ensuring that medical schools abroad live up to their claims; institutions that continue to provide sub-standard services and medical training should find it difficult to remain operational. In addition, we prudently select proper teaching hospitals across the United States and Great Britain. Our team aims to conduct regular site visits of hospitals, medical schools and individual doctors with whom we contract. We welcome the opportunity to work with international medical schools that are interested in providing their students with the best medical training possible.

I believe in the international medical education system. The system is a necessity and is befitting of the ever-increasing globalization of our world. Its evolution into a regular and respected source of quality health care providers is overdue. My team and I are here to see this evolution through; to the benefit of the entire medical community and, ultimately, the patient.
